Laamo, a Finnish contractor, is constructing Tiedonpuiston School in Rasio near Turku, Finland. They needed a simple way to document construction progress, collaborate remotely, maintain a project timeline, and have backup documentation for future quality inspections. To address these needs, Laamo utilized the SiteWalk functionality in Dalux Field.
From the project’s start, Laamo conducted SiteWalk sessions up to twice a week. Using a helmet-mounted camera, they captured 360-degree images while walking through the construction site. These images were automatically linked to project drawings, enabling real-time progress monitoring from anywhere. This comprehensive documentation provided Laamo with a complete overview of the site and increased work transparency. Frequent SiteWalk sessions also created a detailed project phase log, offering a clear view of construction progress.
Laamo effectively documented progress by simply walking around the construction site, maintaining an easily accessible real-time overview. Owners, designers, and other stakeholders could follow the progress remotely, eliminating unnecessary investigations and optimizing inspection time from 10-15 minutes to just 15 seconds per inspection point. SiteWalk’s documentation also served as backup for quality checks, ensuring constant availability of information.
