Sports Complex Glanerbrook

Sportpark Glanerbrook in Geleen, the Netherlands, is being transformed into a modern sports complex bringing elite and recreational sports together for the entire Euroregion. Delivered by Mertens Bouwbedrijf, the project combines the renovation of existing sports halls with a new ice stadium, a 50-metre competition pool, and new hospitality facilities. With the complex remaining operational throughout construction, careful phasing and logistics were essential to ensure athletes and visitors could continue using the facilities safely. Dalux supports the project through centralized documentation, BIM models, site diaries, and 360° SiteWalks. SiteWalk has been very valuable for documenting existing conditions, coordinating where new structures connect to the original building, and comparing construction progress against BIM models and earlier captures. Sustainability is also central to the redevelopment, with heat generated by the ice-making process reused to warm the pools and provide hot water. More than 5,000 solar panels will help make the complex a net-zero energy facility.
