VIGA

VIGA is a new cultural and historical museum in Kristiansand, designed to bring the region’s cultural and maritime heritage together. Spanning 3,700 m² across three floors, the museum combines distinctive timber architecture with a complex design that will be recognized all over the world. At the heart of the building lies the large boat hall, where one wall is a perfectly straight wire-cut face in the bedrock. At the top of the building, a public rooftop terrace offers a panoramic view of the harbour, the sea, and the surrounding maritime landscape. For Skanska, delivering such a detailed project requires close coordination and a shared approach to information. With Dalux Box, teams work with standardized folder structures, metadata, and naming conventions, ensuring everyone has access to the latest project information. Point clouds generated from scans of the surrounding rock formations bring precise site conditions directly into the digital models, supporting the planning and design of a building intended to become a new landmark for Kristiansand.
