Dalux develops products aimed at the construction industry. Besides letting us use our skills within 3D and visualization, there are some very real reasons for this: The construction industry is amongst the most polluting industries globally. By creating products that facilitates better, more smooth construction processes, Dalux helps minimize the time and resources wasted and lost, limiting the pollution and emissions in the process.
We want to do what we are the best at. We also want what we are good at to benefit the world around us.
Since 2005, Dalux has worked to make the construction industry smarter and more efficient. Our user-friendly digital tools and BIM technology (3D building information models) are currently used by leading contractors, builders, and advisors in 147 countries.
Dalux push the limits of how technology can ensure smarter and more sustainable work processes in the construction industry. In close corporation with our users, we continuously optimize existing technology and develop new ground-breaking solutions. In recent years, we have launched a number of world news, including the world’s fastest mobile BIM-viewer and BIM-based Augmented Reality for mobile devices.
All our activities originate at our headquarters in Copenhagen where all development takes place under one roof. In addition, we have several foreign offices and our Customer Success Management team ensures that our more than 700 000 users can get help wherever they are in the world.
We have no external investors and can therefore think long term and focus undisturbed on our customers’ wishes and needs.

With a contract and funds to start a company in hand, Ph.D. in Computer Graphics from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) Bent Dalgaard, and his brother Torben Dalgaard founded Dalux.
Bent picks the best and brightest minds from the courses he taught at DTU and creates a team of developers, working as consultants on various projects and products – all for the construction industry and with 3D and visualization as the key component.
The Danish government introduces new legislation making Building Information Models (BIM) mandatory for construction projects above a certain size in 2010. As Dalux has BIM centered products and have been considering a change in concept, a decision is made; we will limit the scope and range of products to only focus on what we are best at. Dalux starts the transition from a software consultancy to a product company which is completed by 2014.
Dalux hires its first non-developers and begin to create a team of advisors and consultants – all with construction backgrounds – who are able to assist clients, while developers focus on developing the software.
Dalux establishes its first office outside of Denmark in Oslo, Norway. Shortly hereafter, Dalux’ presence in the UK is also established.
Dalux establishes its first Swedish office in Malmö, followed by another office in Stockholm. Dalux’ local presence in the Baltic countries is established with consultants located in Lithuania.
Dalux opens two additional offices in Denmark in Vejle and Aalborg. Dalux’ presence is also established in the Netherlands. The French office in Paris is established, as well as offices in Prague, Czech Republic, Ljubljana, Slovenia
Dalux reached 100 employees across Europe. Dalux establishes its local presence in a range of European countries by creating offices in Spain, Poland, and Switzerland.
Dalux hits 200 employees employed across Europe. Dalux’ headquarters relocates to Vibenshuset (Østerbro, Copenhagen) as we have outgrown COBIS (Nørrebro, Copenhagen). Dalux opens it’s first German office in Munich after having supported the German market from Denmark for years. The office in Finland is also established.
